HML HQ is ahead of schedule
Progress is well underway on the striking new headquarters for HML, located on the outskirts of Skipton. This was marked on Monday (26/01/09) by an official Commencement Ceremony on site where Brian Brodie, MD of HML and Richard Twigg, HML's Chairman, performed the ceremonial bolt tightening.
The contemporary building designed by local architects Bowman Riley Architects is ahead of schedule despite the recent spate of bad weather and main contractor Wates Construction are pleased with progress.
The building is designed to minimise the impact on its environmental surroundings and will incorporate energy saving features such as bio-mass boilers, rainwater harvesting, solar hot water panels, passive chilled beams, extensive solar shading and photovoltaic cells.
The project aims to ease congestion in the town centre as the site is easily accessible from the A59 bypass and will consolidate HML's business in one location as opposed to the four buildings it currently occupies within the town centre.
