Party time for women in the property sector
More than 150 people attended an event held to celebrate the role played by women in the property sector.
The Yorkshire and North-East branch of the Association of Women in Property held its annual cocktail party in Harvey Nichols, in Leeds.
The party, which was sponsored by Bowman Riley Architects and Delta Simons environmental consultants, gave women working in the property sector the chance to network and forge new business alliances.
Claire Malone, a commercial property solicitor at Irwin Mitchell, in Leeds, who is the branch events co-ordinator with Women in Property, said: "Events like this are important because women are under-represented in the disciplines of property and construction.
"Women in Property is a business and networking forum that enables women in the property and construction arenas to come together. It's a chance to find business opportunities and exchange ideas. There's been a growing number of women getting involved in areas like sustainable development in recent years. "Events like this are essential to keep the industry going".
