Construction is underway on Yorkshire based Bowman Riley Architects' striking design for the 100,000 ft 2 Headquarters for HML, a subsidiary of Skipton Building Society, on the edge of Skipton, gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.
The building is designed to minimise the impact on its surroundings and will incorporate energy saving features such as bio-mass boilers, rainwater harvesting, solar hot water panels, passive chilled beams, extensive solar shading and photovoltaic cells.
Construction work is being undertaken by Wates Construction, one of the UK's largest family owned construction companies, and Phase One's steel frame was completed in January, with the overall project expected for completion by early 2010.
